Prof. Md. Anisur Rahman started his gastroenterology carrier in 1991 as Junior consultant in Department of Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic disorder (GHPD) in BIRDEM hospital. He is one of the pioneer in therapeutic endoscopy in Bangladesh. He got special training in therapeutic endoscopy in Showa University Hospital, Japan in 1998.
He ultimately become senior consultant and Head of the Department of GHPD, BIRDEM. He is still working as a leading expert in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP in the country. His long experience and keen interest in the subject made him a trusted gastroenterologist and Liver specialist in the country. He used to get referral cases from all over the country. He is working in Popular Diagnostic center, main branch since 2000 and made this center a center of excellence for different endoscopic procedures.
